Generation of Heroes
Some will call us Hero
Someday.
When facts be known,
Perspective gained.
When time smooths
Turbulence
Into
Wide-stroked narrative.
I know because
I know They knew.
From Their journals, I read:
Some will call us Hero.
For doing what was called for.
Holding to right… despite the cost.
In those days as well as ours
Crisis is only a mix of
Danger
And
Opportunity.
Opportunity for some to call us…
Hero.
I love that thought! I want to print it out and tape it to my mirror or at least write about it in my journal.
ReplyDeleteOn another note - I remember once you sharing inexpensive date ideas and one was to go somewhere and write a poem about the place. Every so often as inspiration strikes, Andrew and I do that - but nothing to actually be taken seriously - because we are laughing the entire time. If we ever were to try to be good at it - you would not be invited because you would put us to shame!! That is my awkward way of saying you are incredible and your words are beautiful!
